This project involved the removal of four existing helicopter hangar doors at Gillespie Field and modification of the structural openings to accommodate new single-slab hydraulic door systems.

Each replacement door was custom fabricated as a single unit to support larger aircraft and updated operational needs for the ASTREA Sheriff’s Office.

The work required careful sequencing, structural coordination, and precise installation to ensure proper fit, function, and long-term reliability. The completed doors provide improved clearance, smoother operation, and durability suited to daily aviation use.
